Andranik Teymourian

IBNA - Speaking with IBNA, the Iranian-Armenian footballer who currently plays for Esteghlal in Iran Pro League said that he is busy playing in his team and has little time to read however he enjoys reading books.


“I believe there is much difference between players who get to read books and those that don’t,” he asserted. “In fact, those who enjoy a lot of information about their specialized field have a better understanding of their potentials and capabilities and can analyze things much better.”

He said he enjoys reading books about human anatomy if he finds time.

Andranik Timotian-Samarani, (more commonly known as Andranik "Ando" Teymourian, born 6 March 1983) is an Iranian-Armenian footballer who currently plays for Esteghlal in Iran Pro League.

He usually plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a side midfielder. From 2006 to 2010, he played for three clubs in England, including two in the Premier League.

He is the only Christian footballer in the Iran national football team. Teymourian played his first match for Iran in 2005, and has featured in their squads for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2007 and 2011 Asian Cups. He has played a total of 74 internationals, scoring 8 times.
