Tasnim - Iranian national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz laments wasted chances against Turkmenistan in the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

Iran was held to a 1-1 draw in Group D of the competition at the Dashoguz’s Stadium.

“First, I congratulate Turkmenistan due to its good performance. They fought better than us in the key moments. We have no excuse for failing to defeat Turkmenistan,” Carlos Queiroz said in the post-match news conference.

“We would not have scored if it had lasted six hours. It's all our own fault."

"Our strikers created more than 15 chances but missed their opportunities,” Queiroz stated.

“At least four minutes of stoppage time should be added,” the Portuguese launched an attack on the referee.
