PLDC - Mr. Mohammad Dadkan (Head of the Iranian Football Federation) was interviewed by the monthly AFC magazine in September. Dadkan expressed the following views about football in Iran, “The greatest problem of Football in Iran is the lack of sports complexes. There are only three or four suitable stadiums in Iran and clubs do not possess private stadiums.”

“The Professional League clubs were told that they had three-years to build private stadiums and educational facilities last year. The clubs have moved in this direction very slow though. Although it is known that there is great talent in Iran and players possess high game technique, the Football Federation does not have the finances to spend on the game.”

“The better players are forced to go abroad to earn more money and this is not good for the league. Deficiency of money and facilities are the two greatest troubles of Iranian Football and the government must pay more attention to this fact. At present Iranian clubs are worried about not having access to football grounds. The Parliament of Iran should pass a law so that clubs can obtain loans to build their clubs.”
