PTV - Iran's Azadi Stadium has been selected as the first Asian stadium for having an intimidating atmosphere for rivals, according to Goal.com.

The website's Asian editor put Tehran's 100,000-seat arena in a list of the top ten stadiums in Asia on Monday.

"The Azadi is not just a stadium it's an attitude. When Javad Nekounam warned Park Ji-sung that he has never experienced anything like the Azadi atmosphere, he wasn't joking," said editor John Duerden.

Before Iran's 1-1 draw against South Korea earlier this month, Midfielder Nekounam warned Korea's Manchester United player Park Ji-Sung that even Old Trafford cannot compare to the Azadi.

"If Asia had a team and a must-win game, you would want it played in this imposing arena in the shadow of the Alborz Mountains," the editor added.

"100,000 men produce an atmosphere that has to be felt to be believed," he concluded.

The other top Asian stadiums respectively are: Gelora Bung Karno (Jakarta, Indonesia), The Bird's Nest (Beijing, China), Jeju World Cup Stadium (Jeju, South Korea), Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium (Kuwait), Saitama Stadium (Saitama, Japan), Salt Lake Stadium, (Kolkata, India), Seoul World Cup Stadium (Seoul, South Korea), King Fahd Stadium (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), Todoroki Stadium (Kawasaki, Japan), Goal.com said.
