PFDC - CARDIFF, It was a very bad Tuesday evening for Andranik Teymourian, who was sent off after his second booking as Barnsely FC suffered a 1-3 defeat to Cardiff City.

The Iranian midfielder started for the fourth consecutive time for the Championship side, but had to see his team trail by to goals already at halftime.

Teymourian himself had been shown a very controversial yellow card after Cardiff City's Wittingham simply smashed the ball at him from a quickly executed freekick and referee Pat Miller decided the former Bolton Wanderers man had not retreated in time.

However, Teymourian almost assisted a goal early in second half when his excellent throughball left Mifsud only with the keeper to beat, but the striker failed to get his shot on target.

Barnsley pulled a goal back through substitute striker Macken after 62 minutes, but saw their hopes shattered when Teymourian received his marching orders for his second booking by Pat Miller just two later for his involvement in a minor brawl after a freekick decision, while no Cardiff player was booked.

Whittingham's late 3-1 sealed the points for Cardiff whereas "Reds" boss Simon Davey could only complain about the refereeing.

"There were a lot of turning points and I think their (the officials) performance was not up to the standard we normally see. We were not at the races in the first half though. I have to be careful with what I say but we were not happy with the referee," Davey is quoted on Barnsley's website .

"It was not our night with the officials but we will live to fight another day. Bring on Birmingham."

Davey will of course have to do without Teymourian for the Birmingham-clash, as the 25-year-old will have to sit out a one game suspension.
