PERUGIA, Italy, March 26 (AFP) - Perugia president Luciano Gaucci on Tuesday prescribed another dose of military-style discipline for his players after last Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Brescia in the Italian first division, ANSA news agency reported.

Gaucci has dispatched the first-team squad to a hideaway to concentrate minds and make them prepare for next Saturday's home match to Chievo.

Earlier this season Gaucci employed the same tactic after Perugia were spanked 5-0 by Lazio on January 20, saying they would not be sent home until their next victory and it proved the kick up the backside the players needed as in the team's next match Perugia beat Verona 3-1.

A fortnight ago Gaucci threatened more of the same when Perugia lost 2-0 at Piacenza and the mere threat again seemed to pay dividends as the Umbrians beat Parma 2-1 in their next fixture.

But Sunday's match saw them lapse back into losing habits and Gaucci has decided to send them off into the wilderness again.

Perugia coach Serse Cosmi said: "We accept the club's decision and in these days we will have the opportunity to evaluate the situation with better attention."
