Alireza Jamali and Arash Ostovari

Paatoop - Two Iranian players have joined Portuguese club Lusitano FC from Algarve.


Alireza Jamali and Arash Ostovari have signed to Benfica’s No. 1 delegation Lusitano FC,

This club competes in the Campeonato de Portugal league, and is one of the favourites to be promoted to Segunda Liga for next season.

This is Jamali’s return to Portugal, as he was with S.C. Covilhã in 2014, and Arash Ostovari is a new-comer to Portugal, but definitely a veteran of playing abroad, as he was in Admira Wacker (Austria) a few years back.

Lusitano coach ( former Porto player) Ricardo Sousa had the following to say about Jamali: “As the first impression, I can see that Alireza has great quality like Vahid Hashemian.”

The Portuguese coach also praised Ostovari, and said, “He has the potential to be in the Iranian national team.”

These two players have already started training with the club, and are said to be in great physical and mental condition.
