Team Melli

PLDC - Beirut, In response to a question regarding his knowledge about today’s incident, the head coach of Team Melli said, “Yes, I am fully aware of the incident and all the people present in Team Melli camp and the Federation officials are aware of it. This incident is very horrible and we are all sad about it, since this is a sad incident for Lebanon and our condolences from the bottom of our heart go to the families of the dead and we express sympathy with them, especially when I heard that there were a number of Iranians among the dead.

Regarding the latest conditions of the Camp and the players of Team Melli, Queiroz said, “As I said today, it is a sad day not only for the loss of the people in this incident, but also since this incident will have great effect on the society and on the other hand, it has greater effect on the football community. Until this moment, I know that the officials decided to play the game and they will bear all the responsibilities.”

In continuation he added, “I repeat it once more and emphasize that this decision is wrong and I personally disagree with playing the match, because we are forced to play and due to today morning incident, there is no occasion for enjoying football and celebration.”
