PLDC - Hans Peter Schmitt, the new coach of Perspolis club attended his first media conference yesterday. At the beginning, Schmitt mentioned that in the recent years, there has been new positions created in Football. He added:" when I first came to Iran, some of the media reported that I have came here to Transfer players which is wrong and with the experience I have gained through out the years, I will do my best to serve Perspolis. I feel that the team currently has certain weaknesses and with the talks I have had with the managing staff and coaches, we will do our best to eliminate those weaknesses."

Schmitt in an analyze of the current situation of Iranian football said: "Players like MahdaviKia and Ali Daei have proven themselves in Europe and the Iranian football is stronger than imagined in Europe" The new coach or Perspolis added: " I know the Iranian national team very well. After the Iran-Germany match up of WC'98, I have learned more about the Iranian football, and even in Austria and Croatia I have seen the team practice and there are some great players in the national team such as Ali Karimi."

Schmitt who has experience as a coach in Bayern Munich, Hamburg FC and Hanover, said: "I have helped many players move from armature to professional level and see them shine in their national teams. I am now happy to be part of a great team that is supported by many."

He added:" I am sure that we can improve our teamwork, and we should also work on our speed. All the teams play defensive against us and that forces us to play accordingly.  These are some main points that we will discuss with the management. I am not a magician, I am a coach who will need time in order to make changes. Perspolis is a team that plays the typical Iranian football, which takes advantage of three important factors; motivation, individual skill and a high physical strength.

Schmitt about the other teams in IPL said:" In my two weeks of stay in Iran so far, I have see three of the teams and during this coming Thursday and Friday, I will get to know the rest of the teams in IPL." Schmitt continued:" One of my other goals is to create a rational connection between the main team and the youth teams of Perspolis, get together with their coaches and recognize the quality players. I have three main goals and one required goal in Prespolis; championship in IPL, championship in the Elimination cup (Jam-e Hazfi) and a successful run in the Asian Champion's league are my main goals. I also want to create a team in Perspolis that plays beautiful football and makes its fans enjoy watching the team. We have a big responsibility."

At the end he added:" perhaps the main problem in Perspolis right now is the internal organization within the team and the fact that some big players such as Kavianpour and Karimi leaving the team and we must now start a new organized team and with the enthusiasm that I see in the players, this is achievable.

Hans Peter Schmitt's contract is a year and a half contract that will be updated every six months.
