Mehr News Agency – TEHRAN, Farzad Majidi scored a winner three minutes into injury time of the second half to help the 10-man Esteqlal of Tehran beat SAIPA here Friday. In front over 25,000 fans in Azadi Stadium, 10km west of Tehran, the blue-clad Esteqlal and SAIPA scored two goals each apiece before the break. Esteqlal was reduced to 10 men when national right winger Alireza Vahedi-Nikbakht was red-carded in the 61st minute. But the blues were more attack-minded than SAIPA and grabbed a three-point goal. Out of four matches in the third Iran Pro League, Esteqlal has eight points. In other matches, Persepolis was stunned by Paykan 2-1 Thursday, presenting leadership to Zob Ahan of Isfahan, central Iran, which defeated Esteqlal of Ahvaz 1-0 at home Friday, the promoted Pegah of northern Gilan Province saw off visitor Barq 3-2 in Azodi Stadium of Rasht, the 10-man Isfahan-based Sepahan overcame the nine-man Foulad of Khuzestan, Pas defeated the promoted northern side Shamoushak 2-1 in Shahid Dastgerdi Stadium, western Tehran, and visitor Abu Moslem of Khorassan lost to Fajr-e Sepassi in Hafezieh Stadium of Shiraz, southern Fars Province. Zob leads the league with 12 points.
