PLDC - Ali Daie, the Iranian National Team captain, spoke about Iran’s victory over Japan (score: 2-1) in the 14th Asian Games where they received the gold medal. He said, “Branco Ivancovic (head coach of National Team) showed his greatness as coach giving his team their tactical spirit. I congratulate the officials, coaches, the National Team, and the people on this valuable victory in the 14th Asian Games”

“The Busan games were at a very high level, and Korea even possessed 5 of their players from the 2002 world Cup series. Our team though got what it deserved in general. This achievement was because of the efforts
of the players, the officials and the technical staff especially Branco Ivancovic and Hossein Faraki.”

“Through this victory, Ivancovic showed how informed he is of today’s football and how good a coach he is. Iran’s game against Japan was one of the best in the National Team history. It was one of the nicest matches they had so far played. The team did not possess three of its key players for the match but played with pride and became the medal winners.”

“I hope that from now on the press and the media and all who care about football in this country support it so that before any sensitive games of the National Team, their spirits are raised high enough to win. I thank all the sports press and media for creating a healthy atmosphere and preventing Ivancovic from being under pressure and criticism so that he could give us good results.”
