Iran Beach Soccer

Tasnim - Iranian national beach soccer team's coach Marco Octavio said they are going to win the Beach Soccer World Cup 2015.


Iran will face Spain on Friday in its opener at the Praia da Baia, Espinho in Portugal.

Team Melli will face giant Brazil and Mexico on 12th and 14th July, respectively, in Group C.

“We have to try and win the title. We are a strong team, as we’ve shown in the past. We reached the quarter-finals at the last World Cup, where we went down fighting to world champion Russia,” Octavio told FIFA.com.

“After the world finals we then went on to beat Russia and Brazil, and we’ll need to be ready to figure among the title contenders this time,” he added.

The 16 teams total participating in this year’s event are: Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Iran, Italy, Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Oman, Paraguay, Portugal, Russia, Senegal, Spain, Switzerland, Tahiti.
