IRNA - Vahid Hashemian is ready to resume full training with Iran's national football team after having recovered from his knee injury, the bi-weekly Kicker sports magazine reported Monday.

"I feel very well, I can shoot again. However I will keep a sense of proportion during the first days in training camp, but I will train with the squad," Hashemian told the German football paper.

The top Iranian forward added he has caught up on his physical conditioning deficits as a result of his injury by undergoing a special four-day fitness program with the conditioning trainers of his Bundesliga club Hanover 96.

"Perhaps this is only a one-time chance to play in the World Cup. I wanted to do everything humanly possible to be fit," Hashemian stressed.

Iran is to play in test matches against Croatia and Bosnia on May 28 and 31 and will then head to their German World Cup base in the south German city of Friedrichshafen on June 4.
