Afshin Esmaeilzadeh

PLDC - Aveiro, Afshin Esmaeilzadeh will be tested by one of the top clubs in Portugal.

A top club in Portugal's Primeira Liga has been looking for an Asian player to add to their roster in order to diversify their fan-base.

At first, this club was seeking a South Korean player, but things did not work out as this east Asian player did not meet their expectations.

Now, this top Portuguese club is going to test Afshin Esmaeilzadeh; a 21-year-old Iranian who is currently playing for second division club: Beira-Mar. Esmaeilzadeh is a favourable prospect because he is already familiar with Portuguese football and culture, and he has become accustomed to the country's lifestyle. This young Iranian is also a quick decision maker and moves fast. He is a central midfielder and distributes the ball well; all of these characteristics match with the demands of top clubs in Portugal.

Esmaeilzadeh's Portuguese agent, Tadeu Martins says, "Fortunately, I have many good contacts in Portugal. I know Iranian football well, and I know this can have a very good impact in Iran. For now, a deal is not certain with a specific club, but we have three good teams interested, and one of the teams will test Afshin next week."

Persian League is aware of the club that is going to test Esmaeilzadeh, and other clubs interested in him, but we have been asked keep these details discreet.
