Morteza Azizmohammadi gave Peykan the lead in the 35th minute, receiving an accurate pass from Seyed Salehi with which he opened Esteghlal’s goal.
Esteghlal came from behind to equalize the match in the 66th minute. Mojtaba Jabbari opened the goal with a powerful shot after Peykan keeper Mohammad Mohammadi punched Alizadeh’s header out of the six yards area.
Peykan controlled possession of the ball in the last minutes but failed to score for a second time.
Esteghlal still leads the IPL with 57 points, one point more than Zob Ahan. The two teams are scheduled to play on Wednesday in Isfahan.
