Espnstar - Sepahan coach Farhad Kazemi believes his side should fear no-one in this season's Asian Champions League.

They prepare to open their Group D campaign with the visit of Al Shabab tomorrow night.

As well as the UAE side, Sepahan have been drawn alongside Uzbekistan outfit Bunyodkor - who have former FIFA World Player of the Year Rivaldo and AFC Player of the Year Server Djeparov in their ranks - and Al Ittifaq from Saudi Arabia.

Sepahan were runners-up in the 2007 edition and missed out on the Iran Pro League title in the final minute of last season and that pedigree gives Kazemi confidence his side can compete with any team on the continental stage.

"Sepahan have been runners-up in Asia and there are high expectations," he said.

"We mustn't say that we're in a difficult group because we aren't afraid of anyone. We've prepared excellently and with our fans' support, we'll beat Al-Shabab."

Iranian striker Mehrdad Owladi will line-up for Al Shabab having scored three goals in his last four games and is looking to prove a point against his countrymen.

"It's a long time since I played against an Iranian club. I know it's going to be live on television and I'm very motivated to show my talents to the fans," said Owladi.

"Sepahan are a big team who have been successful in Iran and Asia and I hope both teams can put on a show for the fans."

The other game sees Bunyodkor host Al Ittifaq with coach Amet Memet aiming to take the Uzbek side one step further than last season's run to the semi-final under Zico's stewardship.

"During our matches in the Uzbekistan League we have been preparing for the AFC Champions League," he said.

"We have tried out new tactical formations because we have serious ambitions in the ACL and therefore we are preparing as best we can."

Al Ittifaq come into the game on the back of a 3-0 defeat to fellow Asian Champions League qualifiers Al Ittihad but have been given a lift by the return to fitness from a knee injury of captain Sayaf Al Bishi.

Romanian coach Ioan Andonie is targeting a place in the knockout stages for the Saudi club.

"We are going into the AFC Champions League with a clear target as we want to compete for qualifying for the next stage," he said.

"Our group is not easy but we will try our best to win one of the two spots.

"What we are looking for is to win all our home matches and get good results in the away matches and I'm sure then that we can make it through."
