MNA - AFC’s Jordanian representative is scheduled to make a one-week visit to Tehran in mid-January to assess the progress of Iran’s FIFA Goal Project.


The representative of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will arrive in Tehran on January 15, 2016 in order to evaluate the development of FIFA Goal Projects in Iran as well as to observe the status of Iranian Football Academy.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has given assistance to Iran by delivering two separate 400-thousand-dollar funds for the completion of Goal Projects 1 and 2.

The objective of Goal Project number 1 was to construct national football academy facilities inside the Azadi Sport Complex in order to organize courses, seminars and conferences while Goal Project number 2 aimed to purchase the association’s headquarters in Teheran to deliver headquarters and administrative offices befitting a football association to improve the image of the association.

The Iranian Football Federation accomplished the installation of an artificial turf pitch at the Iranian Football Academy in the Azadi Complex as part of the third Goal Project seeking to provide the association with training facilities for its youth teams.

The fourth project is undertaking the development of women’s football while project number 5 is estimated to deal with construction of medical centers for the Iranian football association.

The FIFA Goal Programme marks an expression of solidarity that provides the associations with tailor-made projects, such as the construction of association headquarters, technical centers, natural and artificial turf pitches and football schools.

FIFA and AFC representatives have been put in charge of observing the projects and providing their respective organizations with relevant reports on the advancements of ongoing programs.
