Alalam - FIFA have organized a team of 'World Stars' to take part on Sunday in a special game against China's national team as part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's tenth anniversary celebrations.

FIFA Technical Study Group members Gerard Houllier and Francisco Maturana are in charge of the side which includes footballing legends such as Ali Daei, Christian Karembeu and George Weah.

Iran's Ali Daei, the world's all-time leading goalscorer in international matches, with 109 goals from 149 games, took on the dual player-coach challenge with Saipa FC last summer and proved an instant success, clinching the 2007 Iranian championship and hitting the winner in the decisive match.

When the new season gets underway, the 38-year-old former Bayern Munich man will be 100 percent devoted to his duties in the dugout -- unless, of course, the call of the pitch proves too enticing.

The match between FIFA's World Stars and the Chinese national team is the highlight of a feast of football which takes place at the Hong Kong Stadium, before Bayern Munich meet Sao Paulo in what has been billed as 'a battle of champions'.

The president of the Hong Kong Football Association, Timothy Fok said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank FIFA, for their support in gathering this bevy of stars for our Anniversary Celebrations in a relatively short period of time. FIFA's efforts are gratefully recognized."
