Memorable moments

Taiarui celebrates from stands

Portugal 2015 adidas Golden Ball winner Heimanu Taiarui had to sit out of Tahiti's semi-final against Iran after he picked up yellow cards in consecutive matches. During his side's marathon penalty shoot-out, he could be seen in the stands behind the goal experiencing a full range of emotions as his side eventually navigated their way to the final as Raimoana Bennett scored the winning spot-kick. Taiarui pointed towards the heavens as soon as he realised he would be taking part in Sunday's final.

Azzurri sing with gusto

Italy sung their hearts out when their national anthem played moments before their semi-final against Brazil. Gabriele Gori and Co could easily be heard around the Nassau Beach Soccer Arena belting out Il Canto degli Italiani. At first it appeared to spur them on as they responded to Brazil's first two goals with a goal of their own seconds after conceding. However, Brazil ultimately won out. Massimo Agostini's side will look to finish Bahamas 2017 on a high with a win in the play-off for third place against Iran.

Mao reaches milestone in style

Brazil goalkeeper Mao scored a goal in Saturday's semi-final on a day in which he was making a tournament record 45th Beach Soccer World Cup appearance. "I’m very happy, I’ve been in every defeat and every single victory we have had," Mao said after the 8-4 victory over Italy. "If we win, personally it will be my fifth title and this is what we wanted to give our people. It’s something we’ll give everything for."
