Carlos Queiroz

Fcnaija - Former Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz has taken a fresh swipe at Los Blancos president Florentino Perez over the sale of Claude Makelele to Chelsea.

Queiroz was in charge during the sale of the combative midfielder and his opinion about the sale of the French midfielder remains unchanged.

"With (Fernando) Morientes, after the Supercopa, I spoke with him and said, 'See you Tuesday' and he answered 'Tuesday? Do not you know that they have given me to Monaco?'

"I did not know anything but, well, I still had Makelele and I decided to put (Ivan) Helguera in the centre and he was even good ... But then, Makelele goes to Chelsea because he did not sell shirts and so that (David) Beckham could play in the middle, Beckham played on the wing and when he came to Real Madrid we already had (Luis) Figo there.” He told Tribuna Expresso.

Queiroz was in charge of the Iran national team during the World Cup in Russia, The Portuguese manager has also been the manager of the Portugal national team and Spanish club Real Madrid, and was Alex Ferguson's assistant manager at English club Manchester United during the Scottish reign as the Old Trafford.
