PLDC – Former Milan and Sevilla coach Vincenzo Montella has rejected Iran Football Federation’s offer to take charge of Team Melli.
Montella is not convinced to accept the offer, tuttomercatoweb.com reported.
According to what was reported by the Italian media, Montella had been offered a three-year contract until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, worth €1.5m plus bonuses per year.
Iran Football Federation didn’t renew Carlos Queiroz’s contract at the end of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, where Team Melli failed to advance to the final match after being defeated by Japan.
Montella, 44, nicknamed as ‘Aeroplanino’ during his professional playing career, is without a team since parting company with Sevilla in April 2018.
