Faraki Threatens to Drop Nikbakht From Iran’s Soccer Squad

Mehr News Agency – Hossein Faraki Saturday said Tehran’s Esteqlal and national midfielder Alireza Vahedi-Nikbakht will be dropped from the national team of Iran if he does not curb the darker side of his character.
Playing on the left flank, Nikbakht was red-carded by referee Mohsen Qahremani in the 61st minute of the fourth-week Esteqlal-SAIPA match of the third Iran Pro League in Azadi Stadium, western Tehran, Friday as he used foul language.

In his talks with Mehr, the national coach added, “We advise Nikbakht to put more thought and less adrenaline into his game.

“Discipline and sportsmanship have the final say in national team and the players should remember that the youth follow them as their models.

“During the match, every player may be put under great psychological pressure but he should not react unprofessionally.”
