AFC - Senior officials at Esteghlal have reiterated that Iran international Alireza Vahedinikbakht has joined Al Wasl in a US$200,000 deal and not the higher sums that have been circulating in the Iranian and Asian sports media.

The Tehran giants felt compelled to go public on the price tag after reports wrongly suggested that the four-month deal, which will see Vahedinikbakht link-up with former Esteghlal striker Farhad Majidi at the Dubai-based club, was as high as US$350,000.

Vahedinikbakht’s agent confirmed to footballasia.com that Esteghlal will receive US$120,000 from Al Wasl for the player’s services, with the remaining $US80,000 accounting for wages.
