AFC - KOREA Olympic coach Kim Ho-kun said his team had played their Group A qualifying match against Iran according to his instructions, adding their in depth knowledge of the Persians as the key behind their 1-0 away success.

"You can say that Kim had relied on his brain to defeat Iran," said a jubilant Kim from Tehran. "I did not believe the pre-match suggestions that Iman Mobali will be missing from their line-up.

"The match was played at high terrain and our determination held on until the end. We showed good fitness levels. We won because we have done extensive research on the Iranians, an in depth knowledge of the side that eventually worked to our advantage.

"I have seen two tapes of Iranians on the pitch, one against Japan and another against Malaysia. Various reasons have led me to decide to send my team out to attack and not defend."

Predictably delighted after claiming two opening victories in the Group A qualifying to go top of the table, Kim also praised the return of goal-scorer Lee Chun-soo.

"Lee's return was very timely," added Kim. "His European experience helped us defeat Iran. If he gets a chance up front, he will finish it."
