Sepahan's Defender Hamid Farzaneh

IRNA - Bottom-placed Esteqlal of Ahvaz, who is under the spell of relegation, did a Herculean task here Thursday as it ended the winning streak of Iran Pro League (IPL) leader Sepahan of Isfahan.
Playing during the 11th-week match in Ahvaz Takhti Stadium, Esteqlal scored the sole goal of the match in the 10th minute, handing the visitor Sepahan its first defeat. Kazem Mahmoudi scored the winner for the Ahvazi side. The conditions worsened for Sepahan in the 72nd minute when it was reduced to 10 men after Hamid-Reza Farzaneh received his marching orders from the referee.
Sepahan leads the IPL table with 28 points out of 11 matches, by nine wins, one draw, and one loss. Esteqlal of Ahvaz has 9 points.

*Aziz-Zadeh's last-minute goal sinks underdog Malavan

Hamid Aziz-Zadeh of Zob Ahan slotted home in the dying seconds to hand his side a 1-0 win over the underdog
Malavan of Bandar Anzali in the 11th week of second Iran pro League (IPL) here Thursday.
The 90th-minute goal helped Zob boost its points to 12, keeping Malavan at the bottom of the table with only seven points.
Hedayat Mombini judged the derby which was played in Foulad-Shahr Stadium, Isfahan.
 

*Mohtashami helps Paykan past Barq

Amin Mohtashami found the back of the net in the 11th week of second Iran Pro League Thursday, giving Paykan a 1-0 victory over Bar of Shiraz.
Mohtashami's goal in the 35th minute brought Paykan's points to 12. Barq has 13 points.
Hossein Yadi judged the match, played on the pitch of Paykan Stadium.
 

*Fajr, Naft tie at 11th week of IPL

Fajr-e Sepassi of Shiraz and relegation-prone Abadani side, San'at Naft, here Thursday fought in the 11th week of second Iran Pro League (IPL) to a goalless draw.
The host team missed the scoring opportunity from the spot kick in the 68th minute when goalkeeper Seyed Mehdi Rahmati slammed the post.
The two sides played on the pitch of Hafezieh Stadium, Shiraz, and referee Rahim Rahimi-Moqaddam judged the match. Fajr has so far collected 18 points and Naft has 10 points.
 

*SAIPA-Foulad match ends in a 1-1 tie

SAIPA and Foulad drew 1-1 during the 11th-week match of Iran Pro League (IPL) in Shariati Stadium of Karaj on
Thursday. SAIPA made it 1-0 in the 8th minute as Hassan Youssefi fired home and Foulad striker Behnam Seraj scored the equalizer in the 75th minute. Mansour Mohammadi refereed the match. The draw brought SAIPA's and Foulad's points to 18 and 16 respectively.


*Resurgent Pas humbles Abu Moslem

Visitor Pas of Tehran fought back to overcome representative of Khorassan, Abu Moslem, in the 11th week of second Iran Pro League here Thursday.
Pas struck twice to beat Abu Moslem 2-0 in Takhti Stadium of Mashhad.
After 10 minutes into the first half, Mostafa Senoubari scored to put Abu Moslem ahead that was responded by Mohsen Bayatinia and Javad Nekounam in the 65th and 76th minutes. Nekounam converted a penalty.
The two teams reduced to 10 men as Pas striker Bayatinia and Abu Moslem goalie Ahmad Khormali were red-carded by referee Fereydoun Esfahanian in the 72nd and 75th minutes respectively.
Pas has 20 points and Abu Moslem has gathered 10 points so far in the IPL matches.
