TEHRAN - National futsal sides of Iran and Italy fought to a draw here on Tuesday.

Playing their first friendly in the 12,000-seater hall of Azadi Sports Complex, 10km west of Tehran, the two Iranian and Italian futsal teams tied 3-3.

Top goalscorer of Iran, Vahid Shamsaei, found the back of Italian net and his teammate Kazem Mahmoudi struck twice that were responded by the Italian players.

The two international referees of Iran, Manouchehr Nazari and Abdolkarim Sistani, judged the match.

At all four Asian Futsal Championships, the powerful side of Iran has proved invincible as it has lifted the trophy for four straight years.

Iran and Italy will play their second friendly at 05:30 P.M. today. 

The Iranian squad is getting ready for the Asian event to be held in Japan in August.
