PLDC – Samuel Eto'o is negotiating with an unnamed Iranian football club, Mehr news agency reported.
He had traveled to Tehran as TV pundit for Iran and Morocco match in the 2018 World Cup.
The ex-Cameroon striker, who has most recently played for Konyaspor, was a member of Chelsea and Barcelona teams.
The veteran Cameroonian striker has had his contract with Konyaspor terminated by mutual consent.
The 37-year-old former Indomitable Lions captain had only joined the Turkish side in January on a two-and-a-half-year contract, and scored six goals in just 14 appearances to help the club survive relegation.
Eto'o is a three-time UEFA Champions League winner, two-time African Cup of Nations champion, and four-time African Player of the Year.
