PLDC - The Iranian National football Team will soon be off to Busan, South Korea for the 2002 Asian games. Mohammad Dadkan, the new head of the Iranian Football Federation spoke about the upcoming event and the Iranian National Team in a recent press interview.

He said, "All is going well and smoothly. Everything at the Football Federation is calm. The possibility of a comeback by Safaei Farahani (ex-head of IFF) still exists and the whole IFF organization is trying to make him return."

"As a member of the IFF, I share any loss or victory with the National Team and also bear the burdens with them. It is not right for me to predict what will happen in Busan, but I hope they become the champions. Daei deserves to be called the 'flag bearer' of the National Team."

"The IFF has just been contacted by the Olympic committee about the fact that a certain Iranian publication had quoted them saying, "The National Team test results were not acceptable.". This has been flatly denied by them and I warn them not to publish lies. This was written to weaken the National Team and is another example of how some people are trying to ruin football in this country."
