MNA - Persepolis football team got a sweet revenge against Shahin of Bushehr in an away game on Saturday.

Persepolis was beaten 4-1 by Shahin last season, but the Tehran-based team now defeated them 2-1.
Sepehr Heydari’s header gave the visitors a lead just five minutes into the match, but Emad Reza scored an equalizer from a free-kick in the 16th minute.

Mohammad Nouri scored Persepolis’ winning goal in the 65th minute, putting the ball in the back of the net with a header.

“I believe that both teams played well, even though the pitch had problems and the match suffered a lot from it,” Persepolis coach Ali Daei said in the post-match news conference.

“We lost lots of chances in the first half, but after the break we made tactical changes and eventually won the match,” he added.

Vahid Hashemian, who has played for Hamburger SV, Bochum, Bayern Munich and Hannover, came off the bench and made his debut against Shahin.

Persepolis remains sixth with 37 points. Zob Ahan is on top of the table with 45 points, followed by Esteghlal and Sepahan who bagged 43 and 42 points respectively.
